You are here: Home / Metal Chip Briquetter / Meta Chips Briquetter (BM-C)
A metal briquetting machine, also known as a metal chip briquetter or metal briquette press, turns loose metal chips and turnings into dense, uniform briquettes. Hydraulic briquetting machines from ENERPAT use high pressure to compress scrap metal and squeeze out cutting fluid, making it easier to store, transport, and remelt.
While a baler compresses bulky scrap like cans and drums, a briquette press machine is built for metal chips and shavings, making the two machines a perfect match for a complete recycling line.
For more information, explore our metal briquetting machine website, or leave us a message to find the right briquetting machine for your scrap.
  • Metal Chips Briquetter (BM-C)
The ENERPAT BM-C Series Metal Chips Briquetter, utilizing British technology, is designed for large-scale production. With a compression force of 300 to 2,000 tons and an output of 1 to 40 tons per hour, it efficiently compresses metal waste such as iron, aluminum, and stainless steel while separating cutting fluids to enhance space utilization.

As a factory-direct manufacturer, we provide original parts from renowned electrical brands like Siemens and Schneider, with a 1-year warranty for the machine and a 5-year warranty for the motor. Our products are CE and ISO certified, and we serve 278 Fortune Global 500 companies. We have customer support locations in the U.S. and a global service network to facilitate efficient and eco-friendly production for businesses.

Baler vs Briquetter: Which Fits Your Scrap?

A baler and a briquette press solve different problems. A baler compresses bulky, low-density scrap like cardboard, cans, plastic bottles, and tyres into tight bales for easy handling. A metal briquetter is built for metal chips and turnings from machining and manufacturing.
Using a hydraulic briquette press, it presses loose, oily metal chips into dense, uniform briquettes and recovers the cutting fluid at the same time. If your workshop produces metal shavings alongside other scrap, pairing a baler with a briquette press machine gives you a complete, efficient recycling setup.

How a Hydraulic Briquetting Machine Works

A hydraulic briquetting machine uses strong pressure to compress metal chips into solid briquettes, squeezing out cutting fluid in the process.
First, the material is fed into the compression chamber. A hydraulic cylinder then pushes a ram to apply strong pressure and reduce the material volume. The compressed material is formed into a dense briquette and then discharged from the machine.

Which Metal Chips Can Be Briquetted?

Metal briquette presses handle a wide range of metal chips.
  • Aluminum chips are light and easy to compress.
  • Steel chips are tougher but form well under high pressure.
  • Cast iron chips, often powdery or flaky, press into solid and stable briquettes.
  • Copper chips are high in value, so briquetting helps protect that value during storage and transport.
  • Even titanium chips, which are harder to handle, can be pressed into uniform briquettes with the right machine.
Whatever metal chips your workshop produces, a briquetting machine keeps them organized, compact, and ready for recycling. Learn more about metal chip briquetting machine from ENERPAT and which model suits your material.

Metal Chip Wringer: The Perfect Partner for Your Briquette Press

Before metal chips are pressed into briquettes, most of them still carry cutting oil. That's where the metal chip wringer comes in. It uses centrifugal force to spin metal shavings at high speed, separating the oil from the metal and recovering over 97% of it for reuse. Dried, oil-free chips can then move straight into a briquette press machine to be compressed into dense, clean briquettes.
If the chips contain a large amount of cutting fluid or you want better fluid recovery and drier briquettes, a wringer can be a useful pre-treatment step. Together, the wringer and briquetting machine form a complete process: de-oil first, then compress, giving you cleaner material, higher recycling value, and lower disposal costs.

How to Choose the Right Metal Chip Briquetter

Key Factors

First, think about your metal type: aluminum and copper chips need less pressing force, while steel and cast iron need a stronger hydraulic briquette press.
Second, check your daily chip volume. Small workshops can use a compact single-output model, while larger operations need a dual-output or heavy-duty briquetting machine for higher throughput.
Third, consider oil content: high-oil chips may need a wringer added before briquetting. If you're processing large volumes across multiple stages, a complete metal chips briquetting press line can combine shredding, de-oiling, and briquetting into one automated system.

Comparing Metal Briquetter Models from ENERPAT

Our briquetting machines provide efficient compression and cutting fluid recovery. The main differences between models are their compression force, briquette size, and processing capacity.
  • The BM-S (BM-570) is our compact model, 50 tons of force, best for small shops making 100-500 kg of chips a day.
  • The Single Output series, with press force ranging from 100-200 tons, suits medium workshops needing steady, standard production.
  • The Double Output series shares the same pressing force but uses two discharge ports, roughly doubling hourly output for busier operations.
  • For large-scale processing, the BM-C heavy-duty series delivers 315-5,000 tons of force and up to 40 tons/hour, ideal for factories and recycling centers handling high volumes of steel, iron, or alloy chips.
