A returning ENERPAT customer in Melbourne, Australia, the local arm of a well-known professional power tool brand, has added an ENERPAT MSB-E1200 Double Shaft Shredder and an AMB-H2014-250 Hopper-Type Scrap Metal Baler. Together they destroy non-conforming electric power tools and prepare the shredded material for sale to recycling companies.
· Location: Melbourne, Australia
· Industry: Power tools (professional tool brand)
· Material: Non-conforming electric power tools
· Equipment: ENERPAT MSB-E1200 Double Shaft Shredder and ENERPAT AMB-H2014-250 Hopper-Type Scrap Metal Baler
· Application: Destroying non-conforming power tools by shredding, then baling the shredded material for sale to recyclers
The customer is the Australian operation of a long-established, internationally recognized brand of professional-grade power tools, hand tools and accessories. Its products are built for tradespeople who rely on durable, high-performance equipment, and that reputation depends on strict quality standards.
This is not the customer’s first purchase from ENERPAT. It is a returning customer, and its experience with ENERPAT’s equipment and support was a major reason it came back for this project.
No manufacturing or distribution operation can sell every unit it handles. Some power tools fail quality checks or otherwise cannot be sold, and they need to be properly destroyed rather than simply stored or discarded. A power tool is a mix of metal, plastic and electronic components, so destroying it takes a machine with serious cutting force.
Destruction was only the first step. After shredding, the customer wanted to sell the material on to recycling companies. That meant the output had to be easy to handle, store and transport, so the shredded material needed to be compacted as well.
The customer therefore needed a two-stage solution: a shredder tough enough for finished tools, and a baler to turn the output into dense bales. It also wanted a supplier with strong technical support and equipment it could trust.
· ENERPAT MSB-E1200 Double Shaft Shredder: a 1200 mm shredding chamber, φ320–520 mm blades, a 1,360 L hopper, and motor options from 44 to 150 kW.
· ENERPAT AMB-H2014-250 Hopper-Type Scrap Metal Baler: a 250-ton press force, a 2000 × 1400 mm compression chamber, 37 + 37 kW motors, fully automatic operation, and 400 × 400 mm bales.
The decision came down to three factors: technical support, equipment quality and the customer’s existing relationship with ENERPAT.
The shredder. The MSB-E series uses two counter-rotating shafts that cut and tear material at low speed and high torque, which suits tough, mixed items like power tools. It also runs with low noise and low energy consumption. Key features include:
· Imported blades: High-strength German blades with options for hard-facing repair or detachable replacement.
· Entanglement-resistant design: Fixed knives help prevent material from wrapping around the shafts.
· Strong drive system: Available with a Siemens motor and Bonfiglioli reducer, with FAG/SKF bearings in split housings for easy maintenance.
· Smart protection: The Siemens or Schneider PLC provides overload reversal and automatic stop when no material is present.
· Certification and cover: The series is CE and ISO certified, and carries a 1-year machine warranty and a 5-year motor warranty.
The baler. The AMB-H cold-presses material into dense, uniform bales with no binders. Its guarded side platen lets material drop into the hopper while the ram is pressing, so loading never has to stop between cycles. The chamber is lined with HRC55 wear-resistant plate, and the hydraulic system uses leak-resistant fittings, a one-piece cylinder with a 5-year warranty, and an industrial chiller for continuous operation. A PLC with touchscreen control and a CE-certified safety system keep operation simple and safe.
Working in sequence, the two machines turn finished tools into compact bales that are ready to leave the site.
The line processes non-conforming electric power tools. The shredder breaks them down, and the baler compacts the shredded output.
Beyond this project, the MSB-E series also handles plastics, rubber, wood, paper and metal scrap, while the AMB-H series suits aluminum, copper, thin sheet metal and mixed non-ferrous scrap.
The customer now has a complete route for non-conforming power tools: destruction by the MSB-E1200, compaction by the AMB-H2014-250, and sale of the resulting bales to recycling companies. The shredder ensures the tools are reliably destroyed, and the baler produces dense, uniform 400 × 400 mm bales that are easier to store and transport than loose shredded material.
Because the customer had worked with ENERPAT before, it could choose both machines with confidence in the equipment and the technical support behind it.
ENERPAT’s MSB-E series shredders handle 1–20 tons per hour depending on model, and the AMB-H baler series offers press forces from 100 to 500 tons. We offer free material testing, design support and after-sales service. Send us your material and volume, and we will recommend the right shredding and baling setup.
