A recycling company in Chihuahua, Mexico, has replaced a leaking used baler with a new ENERPAT AMB-H1075-100 Hopper-Type Scrap Metal Baler. The machine bales aluminum cans, sheared aluminum profiles, aluminum shavings and other sheared scrap metal into compact 300 × 300 mm bales, giving the customer a more dependable baling operation.
· Location: Chihuahua, Mexico
· Industry: Metal and scrap recycling
· Material: Aluminum cans, sheared aluminum profiles, aluminum shavings and other sheared scrap metal
· Equipment: ENERPAT AMB-H1075-100 Hopper-Type Scrap Metal Baler
· Application: Baling lightweight aluminum and mixed scrap metal into dense, uniform bales
The customer is a recycling company in Chihuahua, Mexico. It collects and processes scrap metal, including a mix of aluminum and other metal scrap. Baling is a key step in its operation, because compact bales are far easier to store, move and sell than loose material. The company had already invested in baling equipment before, which made it clear what it needed from its next machine.
The customer’s earlier baler was a used metal baling machine bought secondhand. In day-to-day use it leaked oil in multiple places, and that became the main reason to look for a replacement.
Hydraulic leaks in a baler are more than a housekeeping problem. They mean fluid has to be topped up and cleaned from the floor, and the machine needs repeated attention. They also make the equipment harder to trust in daily production. For a recycler whose output depends on the baler, a machine that cannot be relied on becomes a bottleneck.
The customer therefore wanted a new machine with a sound hydraulic system, one that could handle several lightweight materials and be delivered without a long wait.
ENERPAT AMB-H1075-100 Hopper-Type Scrap Metal Baler. It has a 100-ton press force, a 30 kW motor and a 1000 × 750 mm compression chamber. It runs in fully automatic mode and produces bales of 300 × 300 mm.
The AMB-H series is built for lightweight scrap such as aluminum cans, aluminum profiles, metal shavings and thin sheet metal, which matches the customer’s material mix. Availability also counted: the machine could be supplied from stock, so the customer did not have to wait for a custom build.
Several design features address the problems the customer had experienced:
· Leak-resistant hydraulics: The system uses a one-piece integrated cylinder with a 5-year warranty, chrome-plated piston rods, and H-type tapered pipe fittings that tighten themselves under vibration. Dual-stage filtration helps keep valves from sticking.
· Continuous feeding: A guarded side platen lets material drop into the hopper while the ram is pressing, so loading never has to stop between cycles.
· Clean bale shape: Shear blades on the ram and a dovetail counter-blade on the frame cut long or awkward pieces during compression.
· Wear protection: The chamber is lined with HRC55 wear-resistant plate, and the frame is a mortise-and-tenon welded structure.
· Continuous operation: An industrial chiller keeps oil temperature under control for multi-shift use.
· Simple, safe control: A Siemens or Schneider PLC with a touchscreen monitors cycle time, current and oil temperature, and the CE-certified safety system includes emergency stop, overload protection and lockable maintenance mode.
1. Feeding: Material is loaded into the hopper, where it drops into the chamber. The machine can also be fed by conveyor.
2. Hydraulic compression: The hydraulic system cold-presses the scrap into dense bales, with no binders needed. The metal’s properties are unchanged.
3. Automatic ejection: A hydraulic cylinder pushes each finished bale out through a small door on a wear-resistant track.
The AMB-H1075-100 processes a range of lightweight metals:
· Aluminum cans
· Sheared aluminum profiles
· Aluminum shavings
· Other sheared scrap metal
One baler can cover all of these, so the customer does not need separate machines for each material.
The AMB-H1075-100 is now installed in Chihuahua, replacing the problem-prone used baler with a new ENERPAT machine. Aluminum cans, sheared profiles, shavings and other sheared scrap are compressed into uniform 300 × 300 mm bales, which are easier to stack, store and transport than loose material. According to customer feedback, there have been no oil leaks since the new metal baler was put into use, which has significantly improved the efficiency of the recycling process and kept the workshop much cleaner.
Automatic operation, continuous hopper feeding and PLC controls keep daily work straightforward. The new machine is backed by a 1-year machine warranty and a 5-year cylinder warranty, which gives the customer a dependable base for its baling operation.
